Services Overview:

Nutrition Intake Assessment (New Patient)
To become a patient of Artemis in the City, you must complete a new patient intake assessment or a complex case review consultation. The intake includes a thorough health history review, dietary recall, questionnaires and review of a recent comprehensive bioscreen diagnostic lab test provided through Artemis in the City or a recent bioscreen provided from your medical doctor.

Complex Case Review Consultation (New Patient)
We excel in helping those who have been everywhere looking for help with their health. The complex case review consultation is for new patients who have complex health issues with multiple diagnostic lab test results from other health practitioners for us to review. This will include a thorough health history review, dietary recall, questionnaires and review of all diagnostic labs provided.

Nutrition Consultation (Patient Follow-up Appointments)
Individual consultations are available to patients of Artemis in the City. These can be follow-up appointments that include recommendations based on nutrition assessment and food diary findings, diagnostic lab result findings, specialized diet recommendations, and ongoing support for medical nutrition therapy. These consultations can include nutrition protocols, health and nutrition handouts and recipes. It is important to schedule follow-up appointments so that we can assess what is working or not working for you with your nutrition recommendations, or monitor specialized diet plans and nutrition therapies. Complex cases should really consider an ongoing coaching program.

Nutrition Coaching Programs (Patient Ongoing Appointments)
A nutrition coaching program is recommended for those who have complex health issues and need ongoing support with an expert clinician. Our ongoing 3-month, 6-month and longer coaching programs are designed to provide support to patients as they make positive nutrition and lifestyle changes to feel good, lose weight, heal from illness, make better food choices, create a balanced healthy life and reach desired goals. Sessions are held every other week to keep patients focused on meeting health goals, implementing recommendations and to provide ongoing education. Change is difficult and health is very complex. These programs are essential to help patients succeed.

Clinical Routine and Functional Diagnostic Laboratory Test Result Reviews
(Patients and Nonpatients)
We offer a wide array of diagnostic testing services for both patients of Artemis in the City and also for nonpatients who only would like the testing service. For patients of Artemis in the City, the results of diagnostic testing is used to help develop customized nutrition recommendations and protocols. Nonpatients will only receive result reviews. We cannot provide nutrition recommendations and nutrition therapy to people who have not completed a thorough health intake assessment. To become a patient, you must complete the new patient intake session so that we can gain a complete understanding of your health history.

Specialized Diet Plans and Protocols:

We have extensive experience and training in many different diets. These are recommended based on a patient's health condition and symptoms. Specialized diets are implemented for sports performance, preconception, pregnancy, infertility, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, kidney disease, osteoporosis, weight issues and management, GI issues, IBD, IBS, SIBO, Celiac Disease, leaky gut syndrome, thyroid disease, food allergies, autoimmune diseases, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, anorexia, amenorrhea, food addiction, parasites, detoxification, neurological conditions and others.

Health Insurance:

Artemis in the City is currently a provider on the following health insurance plans listed below. We are not a provider on any other insurance plans at this time and would be considered out-of-network for all others not listed. We can file a claim for you for nutrition consultations if you are on the plans which we are a provider. Additionally, we can provide you with a Superbill for you to provide to your insurance company for reimbursement for out-of-network services. You can also pay for our services with your Health Savings Account.

Please note that many health insurance companies generally have limited coverage for nutrition services. You should check with your insurance provider to see what your plan will cover for you and the number of visits. You should also ask if they cover in-office or tele-health services. Often the insurance coverage for medical nutrition therapy is limited to medically diagnosed conditions such as Diabetes, Obesity, Kidney Disease, Organ Transplantation and Cardiac Rehab. You will often need a doctor referral along with diagnosis codes.

The functional diagnostic testing we offer is not eligible to file on insurance as most insurance companies will not cover these specialty diagnostic tests.

Note: If you are on an insurance plan in which we are a provider, benefits will need to be confirmed initially and you will pay your copay for nutrition consultations. Please see the above list of insurance plans.
